Crestfallen

Innocent victims
found behind masks,
soaking in reality,
drinking savage rays-
burning layers
of delicate skin…
Penetrating deep
past the surface
are the souls
of infinite measure:
exploring, stirring
sacred grounds.
Hearts,
miles between,
fall into a cavity
of the lost.
